Employers have a legal duty “so far as is reasonably practical, avoid the need for their employees to undertake any manual handling operations at work which involve a risk to them being injured.” it is therefore in an employers’ legal interests to make sure their employees are handling goods and loads safely.
It is also in an employers’ economic interests too. Millions of working hours are lost every year through injury, and personal injury cases and compensation packages can prove costly.

It also features a unique design which means that it requires up to 67% less force to get started than a standard hand pallet truck. The starting force is reduced by two thirds in comparison to standard pallet lifting.
So how does the BT Pro Lifter work?
The BT Pro Lifter includes a pro-start feature which means that a connection between the tow bar and the steering wheel transfers the stroke action power to the wheel to make the truck roll. This start assistance reduces the amount of effort required to make the truck move.
How to use the BT Pro Lifter hand pallet truck
- Pull the silver pro-start lever on the truck upwards and hold in position to engage the pro-start function.
- Pull the tow bar down (as if to pump up the load) the force of this action will roll the steering wheels towards the operator.
- Release the lever once the load is rolling and continue moving the truck manually.
